It is believed that the first skateboard was probably manufactured somewhere around 1940's when surfers in California wanted something to surf when the waves were flat. Eventually the whole idea about a flat board became so popular that different ideas like wooden boxes or boards with roller skate wheels attached to the bottom followed. With time several changes were made to improve the quality and performance of the product. These changes allowed skateboarders to have a better control on the handling of the skateboard and new tricks were invented. Today, Skateboarding is one of the favourite American sports that is enjoyed by kids and adults, both.
